My Story

How did my FABULOUS collection of Hair Clips come about?
I've grown up in a very creative and artistic family. We've always been known for making things rather than buying them, especially amongst our friends and I wasn't much different. My girlfriends have always bought my many creations and as we all grew older, got married, started having babies, my creations evolved with what was going on in my life. Suddenly the day finally came when I got pregnant and had a baby girl in 2005. Needless to say, my hair clips weren't created until I realized I didn't like any accessories I found and I could never find the right colors to match her outfit. In 2006 I finally figured how to make a cute, yet trendy clip in the colors I wanted. And the main reasons why I had to make my own was because my daughter was blessed with a ton of hair and none of the clips I found stayed in it. Through trial and error I finally came up with a few prototypes, I showed my friends, they loved them and bought them all!!! And the life of my clips took off. The Baby  Bow idea came from a great friend, Denise, my biggest fan, who's always promoting my company and who's always searching for new ideas for me!! I did some craft shows in 2007 and the feedback was amazing. I decided to approach an online store shortly after my shows were done and they loved my bows and I got my first store!!! And I hope to add many more. As for where 'Mi Nena', my company name came from, well it needed to be special because my creations were originally started for my daughter. I knew I wanted to use my Spanish heritage so I started brainstorming and came up with "Mi Nena" pronounced me nehnah, which means "my baby girl", it was perfect because I started this journey for my baby girl.

I hope you  love my creations as much as I do!!
